Bemet’s integration into electronic music might be a bit more formal than most of his colleagues. The Israeli producer, composer and pianist takes inspiration from a wide breadth of musical influences and makes music that is uniquely his own.

Born in Israel in the late 80s, Hod Moshonov started studying classical piano as a child. By age 13, he formed his own jazz band, the Hod Moshonov Trio. By age 14, he was on his first world tour. For his outstanding achievements in music, he was awarded a full scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Though his jazz career was still going swimmingly–he was even mentioned in 

–Hod began turning more towards production in the early 2010s.

In 2015, he began work with Asaf Avidan on the album 

, recording and arranging for the Israeli indie artist. That same year he released his first full-length album as Bemet, 

The album was a mix of hip hop, jazz and downtempo electro, and featured LA-based producer Free the Robots and Israeli rapper Rebel Sun. The album was recognized by Brooklyn Radio, BBC radio & Poplock. His more recent releases, like the Skazi collab “Caliente” and 2020’s Ichikidana show a more bass-heavy approach for the artist.

After releasing a few albums, Bemet began working with some big bass artists. To date, he’s collaborated with dubstep artist Borgore and supported Major Lazer during shows in Israel. During his own live sets, Bemet has been described as “explosions of light and sound.” He brings his extensive musicality with a hint of hipness, playing on his custom made Key-tar, resurrected straight from 80s new wave. With support from Mad Decent and Diplo, we’re certainly excited to see how Bemet will influence the future of bass music.
