Overview

Dr. Fresch is a name likely familiar to any raver who’s attended an event thrown by LA-based production company Insomniac Events. Insomniac has established itself as an authority in dance music, acting—especially along the West Coast—as a tastemaker for the genre. That’s why, when Tony Fresch won Insomniac’s Discovery Project in 2013, the decision came with a great deal of weight—and a huge jump-start for his career. Since then, christened as Dr. Fresch, he’s been bolstering his resume with an ever-growing list of accolades.

In addition to continued support from the Insomniac brand, playing notable festivals like Insomniac’s flagship EDC Las Vegas and the ever sought-after Electric Forest, Fresch ranked No. 9 on Billboard’s “Next Big Sound” chart following the release of his eponymous first EP, and has released tracks on powerhouse labels like Skrillex’s OWSLA, Insomniac Records, Atlantic Records, and Ministry of Sound. He’s also played other notable U.S. festivals like Washington’s Paradiso, San Diego’s CRSSD, and Canada’s Shambhala.

His flagship blend of house music and hip-hop has led to collaborations with the likes of Denzel Curry and Andre Nickatina, as well as an official remix for Rico Nasty. In 2016, Fresch’s “Gangsta Gangsta,” a joint effort with Eazy-E’s son, Baby Eazy-E became a smash hit online, in the States, and across the pond in the United Kingdom.

Fresch’s creative output since his 2013 Insomniac win has been a steady stream of releases, both singles, EPs and longer compilation albums—and all with his signature, club-ready sound. He has notably collaborated with Nitti Gritti and BIJOU, and his 2022 track, “Ghost,” has been remixed by the likes of Riot Ten, Cloverdale, and Dustycloud. It’s safe to say the DJ/producer has established himself as a staple in the festival circuit and he’ll be gracing lineups for years to come.
