Overview

Cutting his teeth amongst the boom of French-made house music, Sébastien Léger managed to make a name for himself. With an abundance of creativity and adaptability, Léger says he prefers to carve out his own niche rather than follow the current sound du jour. Over the last 25 years, the dance community has had the pleasure of getting to know this straight-talking, but openly emotive artist.

Léger began to DJ in 1994 and started producing his own music in 1998. He took inspiration from fellow French artists like Daft Punk and Laurent Garnier. In 1999, he released his first record “There is Life After Us'' on Black Jack, a French label founded by producer Fab G. Over the next few years, his steady stream of releases saw him featured on ever more prominent labels such as Defected, Ovum, Intec. His sound was house-inspired, but quirky and funky too. Versatility and consistency would prove to be his superpowers. Electro bangers, sensual vocal records, peak-time house romps and melody heavy epics all made their way into the producer's discography.

In 2007, he debuted his first label, Mistakes Music. The label would play home to most of Léger’s tracks over the next eight years and featured artists like Secret Cinema, Jay Lumen, and Heartik. In 2013, he released his first full-length album, Back To Basics, to critical acclaim. His most recent imprint, Lost Miracle Recordings, was created in 2019 with Léger’s own “Skadi” EP. This would come four years after Mistakes Music released its last record.

Today, Léger continues to keep his prolific work rate high. His singles "Hit Girl," "Hypnotized," and "Aqualight" became hit dance records played all across Europe. Now safely at home in the upper echelons of electronic music, Léger continues to blaze his own path forward, ensuring that he entertains himself just as much as his worldwide crowd of fans.
