For more than two decades, the Awakenings brand has hosted revered techno acts from all over the world for a week in Amsterdam to celebrate the music. Not a stranger to Awakenings’ festivities is industrial space Gashouder, who will welcome techno enthusiasts back to the open space once more. With many of the programs set to take place at the venue in October, Amelie Lens is gearing up to host her EXHALE branded event at the Gashouder on Sunday, October 23, with a little help from some of her techno peers.
Initially debuting on Italian imprint Lyase, DJ-producer Pan-Pot’s label Second State catapulted Amelie Lens to the forefront of the global techno scene. Notorious for her engaging “All Night Long” sets at the Labyrinth Club, she founded the exclusive EXHALE event at the club to showcase talented artists emerging from the underground. She’ll be bringing along some of the most innovative techno peers to date, rounding out the event’s star-studded lineup, which includes: 999999999, Daria Kolosova, Farrago, Helena Huff, and Milo Spykers.
The 999999999 project, established by an enigmatic Italian duo in 2016, has taken hold of the most revered international festival stages and club venues in and around Europe in the last few years. Known for their improvisational hardware use, the pair has seen much success from records released through their NineTimesNine label. They made a leap from being vinyl-only to signing a plethora of artists to their imprint’s new digital branch.
From acid to hard techno, this dynamic techno duo’s Awakenings ADE set is one not to be missed. Daria Kolosova, Farrago, Helena Huff, and Milo Spykers are all part of the new generation of techno, fine-tuning the elements of the genre you know and love and redefining what those sounds can become. Always inclusive and sans restrictions, prepare to experience the best in techno at one of the greatest internationally acclaimed open-space venues.
