On June 2, we've got our next Doubleheader event going down on The Roof of Superior Ingredients with two legit veterans of the global house music scene, Gene Farris and Matthias Tanzmann. Gene and Matthias are in a league of their own in the house music sphere. Equally talented, they've both had an immeasurable influence on the electronic music landscape. We can't wait to share another epic day of house music with these two stalwarts of the scene high above the streets of Brooklyn.

Born and raised in Chicago, Gene Farris cut his teeth in Chicago's infamous early 90s warehouse party scene. There's no question that Gene has always been at the forefront of house music. In fact, he was recruited by Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles, to become one of the first residents at his club, the Power House. In the decades that have followed, Gene has remained on the cutting edge of house while always paying homage and respect to its roots.

A set from Gene is an education and an invitation to release your inhibitions. His catalog delves deep into the history of the genre. It includes some of Defected's earliest releases, collaborations with Green Velvet alias Cajual, and a litany of rock-solid groovers on his taste-making imprint, Farris Wheel Recordings. Launched in 1996, he's released hits from legends like Paul Johnson and Ron Carrol alongside beats from today's hottest talent, including Will Clarke, Sonny Fodera, J. Worra, MISS DRE, and Max Low.

Like Gene, Matthias is a certified legend of the scene. He got his start after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Living in Leipzig (formerly in East Germany) he helped form the foundation of the dance music scene. In 2000 he formed Moon Harbour Recordings, a label that continues to shape and define deep and tech house.

Not only is he part of the trio Better Lost Than Stupid with Martin Buttrich and Davide Squillace, Matthias is a staple of the global club circuit. He's made the walls seat from Ultra Miami to Tomorrowland, the Brooklyn Mirage to his many appearances across Ibiza. And now he's returning to New York to rock the floor alongside Gene Farris for you at Superior Ingredients.

Moon Harbour founder Matthias Tanzmann continues his run of big collaborations, this time linking up with label mate Francisco Allendes for the brilliant 'Disco Mike.' Together the esteemed producers cook up 'Disco Mike', a futuristic house sound with sleek, flashy synths and turbocharged drums and bass. It's a groove that brims with machine warmth and wispy melodies, crisp drum fills and soulful vocals that are expertly deployed for maximum effect.

Doubleheader allows two artists with similar sounds but divergent audiences to share sonic space. Each artist will electrify the dancefloor with a solo set, then join forces for a rare and thrilling B2B to close the evening.

Gray Area is pioneering the "Doubleheader" event series, drawing inspiration from back-to-back baseball games to showcase artists with similar styles but unique fan bases. By having one artist follow another and culminating in a collaborative back-to-back (B2B) set, Doubleheader aims to create a powerful platform for musical discovery and cross-pollination. Embracing the "B2B" spirit, the initiative seeks to introduce audiences to new sounds while strengthening the dance music ecosystem.
