Outlook Origins
Tisno, Croatia
Overview
Sitting on its own private bay off the coast of Croatia, Outlook Origins almost seems too good to be true. With glistening beaches for sunbathing and boat parties, three killer stages, and choice after-parties to take you deep into the night, don’t be surprised if you have to force yourself to leave. The yearly festival takes place at the highly coveted Garden Resort, and this year Outlook Origins lands for a luxurious six days on July 28 - August 2, 2022. If you’re looking to combine the audio quality of a great music event with the luxury of a beach holiday, you might have found your ticket.
Outlook Origins was birthed in 2020 as a celebration of “sound system culture.” Though it’s a newer festival, Outlook Origins attracts dance music fans from across the globe who want to enjoy the best in drum & bass, dubstep, reggae, grime, and beyond.
One of the things that makes Outlook Origins so iconic is their infamous boat parties. For an extra cost, festival-goers can set sail on the Adriatic Sea with some of the festival’s headliners (along with some of their record label and promoter buddies). Are you more of a night owl than a sunbather? You can forgo the boat bash and keep the dance floor alive all night long at Barbarellas Discotheque, a highly revered outdoor venue located 20 minutes away from the festival site.
Equally opulent are the festival’s available accommodations. You can choose to stay in an on-site luxury airstream, or camp beneath the fig trees in boutique bell tents. They’re all just a short walk away from the seaside and all the danceable action. If you need a bit more R&R, there’s also a range of local apartments and villas available for visitors.
On the lineup, Outlook boasts an impressive array of drum & bass artists. A standout for us, Alix Perez, describes his live DJ style as “eclectic.” Others have coined the term “liquid funk” for his deep rhythms. Whatever you want to call it, we couldn’t imagine a better soundtrack for a sunset, beach dance party. If dub is more your type, check out Breaka. The UK-based artist combines glitchy dubstep and reggae for the ultimate island party vibe. Our final pick, IZCO, brings the future bass and sexy funk to the Outlook Origins stage.
No matter what you choose, Outlook Origins promises to have the vibe dial on 10 all weekend long. Be sure to drink a mimosa on your luxury boat cruise for the rest of us.
