Christian Rivera-Joaquin, better known as Wakyin, is not just a musical talent; he has an interesting journey and inspiring backstory. Before becoming a rising star in the music world, Wakyin navigated a different path: he was an educator and coach, balancing his love for music with a traditional career.
Wakyin’s foray into teaching began shortly after he graduated from the University of Central Florida. Juggling his responsibilities as a teacher and coach with his budding music career was no small feat. However, this period in his life was instrumental in shaping the artist he is today. His time spent mentoring students and athletes not only taught him valuable lessons in discipline and leadership but also fueled his creative spirit. It was during this phase that he realized the conventional 9-to-5 lifestyle wasn't his calling.

He began with a jailbroken version of FL Studio on an iPod touch, demonstrating resourcefulness and a keen interest in learning the craft from a young age. This DIY approach laid the groundwork for his unique sound, blending various influences and genres.
