Gray Area Guide to Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza
As party locations go, Playa D’en Bossa is one of Ibiza’s top locations. Home to some of the island's busiest and largest clubs, a sandy stretch of beach bars and easy access into Ibiza Town, it is the perfect place to station yourself, if you’re wanting a taste of it all.
By day you can relax and refuel on one of the longest stretches of beach on the island, watch the clubbing parades dance on by, and catch the drifting tunes that float from each beach club.
Bars and restaurants line the busy strip and you’ll not go more than five paces without the offer of a club ticket deal to steal your night away. It feels like the town that never sleeps as clubbers are catered for until the early hours with pizza places, 24-hour supermarkets and the constant pool of invites of more mayhem to take you on until the early hours.
Location
Playa d'en Bossa Beach
Playa d’en Bossa’s prime position on the east coast of Ibiza means its stunning sands are the perfect place to catch the morning sunrise. Not only that, located just 10 minutes from the airport and Ibiza Town, a short stroll to quaint Figueretes beachfront and smack bang in the middle of clubland, it's the ideal location for those wanting easy access to the islands hottest spots.
With Ibiza Town just down the road, and a main point for most lines around the island, Bossa is an easy place to begin any journey. You can reach the town centre either by bus or a lovely 30 minute stroll along the promenade. Taxis are also in continuous flow but if you plan on getting one after the club shuts, be aware that many others will have the same idea. Be prepared to queue in peak season!
Accommodation
Ushuaïa Beach Hotel - Playa d'en Bossa
Awash with accommodation, Bossa boasts an array of options from affordable to super-luxe. If you’ve got some cash to flash then you can enjoy spas and sophistication, and add a taste of the VIP lifestyle to your trip.
First on our list, with its looming tower and clubside suites is Ushuaïa Ibiza. From either option you can create your own bed-side dancefloor or dip in the action whenever a banger calls.
Just down the road the Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort & Spa brings 5 star luxury to the sea front. If you’d prefer to spend your money on good times then Apartamentos Es Cantó will leave you with some spare change.
July and August are the busiest times, so with this comes an inflation in cost. Being such a hotspot, will mean a price tag to suit.
Nightclubs
Once home to the famed and never forgotten Space Ibiza, Playa d’en Bossa has retained its clubbing capital crown with Ushuaïa Ibiza and Hï Ibiza keeping the party going.
Ushuaïa Ibiza is a daytime vibe like no other, as thousands fill the open air venue for some of the best al fresco fiestas the island offers.
Hï Ibiza by night
Across the street temptation beckons with Hï Ibiza cramming the lineup every night with talent. The party oozes into every corner of the club, so much so that you can’t even use the bathroom in peace.
Although both hard hitters, we’d be foolish not to mention the banging basement club; Octan Ibiza. With sweaty ceilings and an authentic underground attitude, it's no place to pose, just to party hard.
Octan Ibiza - Playa d'en Bossa
Finally on the fringes of Bossa and an easy 5 minute cab ride, the sovereign DC10 still reigns supreme over clubland. Despite its smaller stature its legendary status means you’ll find the crem-de-la-creme of DJs playing, as the most hardy of international ravers lap it up all season long.
Beach Bars
Nassau Beach Club - Playa d'en Bossa
Making the most of the sandy strip, Bossa booms with beach bars that can cure - and create - those fuzzy heads. With Bossa's staple Bora Bora beach club temporarily shut town for a complete revamp, there are still many to go to that offer exquisite vibes.
Our top recommendations go to Nassau Beach Club and Tanit Beach, mainly because both the food and the fun are both on point - check out their events calendar for those special dates. Next up Beachouse and Coco Beach bring a slightly more chilled Balearic vibe to the seafront.
Menus and music will vary in each but essentially they all offer a place to dine, relax and refresh, or party in the sand. Loungers and daybeds are available in each venue but if you want to spend the day lazing on one, make sure to book in advance.
Restaurants
Dunes - Playa d'en Bossa
If you’d prefer to dine away from the beach and hit the street, then Bossa has some great little spots to line your stomach before your big night out.
On the main strip, Dunes Ibiza offers an American style menu, refreshing cocktail list and open terrace to enjoy it all from. Slightly further down, Ciao Ciao is an authentic Italian eatery that will bring you all the pre-rave carbs you need. Impressing the locals and tourists alike since 1973, La Cabaña Ibiza shares a fusion menu that really packs the flavour.
For those looking for the late night pitstop, Bossa is pizza slice heaven. With countless options along the main street you can pick a different topping every night.
Activities
Only Ibiza boat party
When lazing on the beach all day starts to become tiresome, there are plenty of other options to entertain you. If you’re still feeling the party but want to take it offshore then Only Ibiza Boat Party has the answer. Departing from the far end of the promenade it won’t be long before the drinks and tunes flow, along with a foam. It really is a party like no other.
For those wanting to be the captain of their own fun, there are many facilities renting stand-up paddle boards and kayaks within the area, including Jet Skis if you’re feeling daring.
If you are up for a little exploring then just a little further down the coast of Figueretes. With a quaint promenade and lovely restaurants and bars, it's the perfect place to find a little calmness for the night.
