Overview
Elliot Fisher, better known by his moniker Darkzy, is Nottingham-raised dub and bassline producer and DJ. After rising to prominence in the late 2010’s amongst the UK’s rapidly shifting club music scene, this young producer now finds himself on some of the biggest festival lineups in the world.
When Fisher’s brother first introduced him to electronic music, he quickly devoured the music of bassline greats like TS7 and Swifta Beater. As he honed his production skills from his bedroom, he slowly began to release his own music. He found his debut success with the single "Dark Nights," which found a home on Project Allout Records in 2015. His unique sound combined the high energy of bassline with dubstep's grimier flairs. Eventually, his live shows would showcase the same versatility.
In late 2016 he started performing in clubs around England, working up to what would become packed-out performance schedules in 2017 and 2018. Behind the decks, Darkzy favors drum ‘n bass, dubstep, bassline, grime and garage. His consistent live presence and high-energy shows around the UK helped him to build an enamored audience. As Darkzy solidified his place in the scene, he began to support high-status artists like Chase & Status, Sub Focus, and Netsky. He also took quickly to the festival scene, making appearances at Outlook, Parklife, Hideout, Bestival, Glastonbury, and Creamfields.
In 2018, he released his Dark Nightz EP with Crucast. He followed up the release with an extensive European tour, hitting Manchester, Southampton, Lincoln, Prague, Reading and Oxford. It was around this time that he also started touring and collaborating with popular British MCs and rappers, most notably, Bru-C and Window Kid.
With a constantly growing discography, Darkzy has also showcased his growing talent for advanced song structures and vocal sampling. As bassline and UK garage continues to grow, we can’t help but think Darkzy might have something to do with it.
