An integral force in the UK dance music scene, Ellie Cocks is a London-based producer and DJ who has been active since 2012. Her stripped-back, weighty grooves hold notes of the music she was raised on— Motown, soul, jazz, hip-hop, and everything in between. Her unique signature sound is distinctly acoustic-leaning. Between her distinguishing sound and charismatic energy, Cocks has found love in all areas of the industry, with promoters consistently booking her and ravers always showing out.
Cocks has been releasing music since 2016, starting with a collaborative project with Max Chapman, titled Taking Over, via Resonance Records. She has consistently released new music almost every year since, with her most recent EP, On The Run, released in 2020 via THUNDR. Her debut release peaked at #1 on the Beatport charts, proving that she had a lot to bring to the scene even in her earliest days.
Her range of releases throughout the years have been very well received, with many being signed by prominent labels. Some of the industry’s most notable names have supported Cocks, including Joseph Capriati, East End Dubs, Paco Asuna, Neverdogs, Nic Fanciulli, Latmun, Seb Zito, Mark Jenkyns, Richy Ahmed, and many more.
Since her start in 2016, Ellie Cocks has consistently performed across Europe with multiple residencies. She has performed at places like Sankeys Ibiza, Warehouse Project Manchester, Kater Blau Berlin, and Studio 338 in London. Frequently performing in Ibiza, she holds a summertime residency at Amnesia. She’s also held a residency at London’s famous Abode venue, which awarded her the title of DJ Mag’s Best of British Best Resident award in 2018.
Playing at these renowned venues has allowed her to open for many of the scene’s most notable names, including Cuartero, Sydney Charles, wAFF, Dubfire, Sante, Erick Morillo, Lee Foss, Heidi, and more.
With many impressive performances under her belt, Cocks continues to perform regularly around the globe. She’s hitting events like Sankeys Summer Closing, Grounded Sounds, ADOBE On The Snow, and more, proving that she’s on a steady path to the top.
