Zeds Dead

Rising to the dance music scene in Toronto, Canada, Zeds Dead has built a prominent career since introducing themselves to the world in 2009. The electronic duo, composed of Dylan Mamid, also known as DC, and Zacharay Rapp-Rovan, also known as Hooks, gained traction in the industry by releasing original music and remixes and then quickly began to see their talents earning international recognition. Now, Zeds Dead’s live performances and discography exists as staples in music circuits around the globe. Their success as an independent electronic act can be measured further in hundreds of millions of streams across platforms, countless Top 20 Billboard hits, and several Canadian JUNOS nominations.

Mamid and Rapp-Rovan have invented and curated an immense catalog of work encompassing a boundless sound and extensive range of styles. This includes numerous outstanding singles, trending masterful remixes and impeccably crafted EPs. 2016 was the year the pair premiered their first ever album Northern Lights. This debut production from Zeds Dead contains features  by Diplo, Pusha T, Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo and so many more. Northern Lights received a spot on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums as a Top 10 hit, while also easily climbing the charts of Heatseekers Albums. Additionally, the album acquired a nomination at the 2017 JUNOS for Dance Recording of the Year. Zeds Dead's latest release is their 2021 album, Catching Z’s. This is a creation in which the duo experimented with unprecedented styles of electronic music in thirteen tracks that feature fresh music from Mamid and Rapp-Rovan.

2016, being such an important year due to their breakout album, was made even more significant with Zeds Dead’s launch of their own imprint, Deadbeats Records, now a leading independent label in dance music. Mamid and Rapp-Rovan’s label has worked with over 150 music releases from growing artists, such as PEEKABOO and Subtronics. Deadbeats has also issued multiple compilations called We Are Deadbeats, which highlight four volumes of original songs from the label’s artist index. These original tracks are created by the likes of REZZ, Megalodon, and, of course, Zeds Dead. Even more, Zeds Dead and their imprint have ventured into live events, seeing much success with the branded Deadbeats Tour and the yearly show at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, DeadRocks, which has been a sold out event since 2014.
