Folamour is a French melodic craftsman who synthesizes the cheerful aesthetics of disco and charges it with a significant amount of house groove, resulting in laid-back but compelling club tracks. Born Bruno Boumendi in Lyon, France, the Parisian DJ and producer released his first mixtape ‘Chapeau Rouge’ in 2015 on Fauxpas Music. That same year he co-founded, along with friends Ethyène, Kaffe Crème, and Okwa, the Lyon-based record label Moonrise Hill Material which held a focus on melodious house music.

A year later the maestro started his own record label FHUO (For Heaven Use Only) whose sound is described as “jazz from outta space”. His formal training in drums, bass, guitar, and percussion have no doubt influenced his projects which range from pop to jazz, and are always infused with a rich musicianship that makes his productions poetic. Along with his masterfully orchestrated tracks, Folamour has the ability to light up dancefloors with his infectious personality, winning smile, and commanding presence. He’s played at revered venues such as London’s Corsica Studios, Rex Club in Paris, and festivals like Nuits Sonores, Dimensions, Lost Village and many more.

In 2017, Foamour truly made his mark with his debut album ‘Umami’. The critically acclaimed project included instant hits ‘Devoted To U’ and ‘Ivoire’. Fresh off of his album’s success he was invited to create remixes for legendary artists Tony Allen and Nightmares on Wax. His sophomore album came in 2019, ‘Ordinary Drugs’, and was another blissed-out affair with rhythms that fill the soul with euphoria. His delicate style and futuristic flair have come on a fine array of labels from All City to Classic and Church to Glitterbox.

‘The Journey’, Folamour’s junior album, hit platforms in June of 2021 and featured the likes of SG Lewis, Zeke Manyika, Tertia May, and the artist’s own voice. This album reflects Folamour’s more tranquil side and has more hues of soul and funk. Constantly looking to evolve his sound into a more accurate representation of his current self, the artist isn’t afraid of stepping out of the box and moving away from sounds that he’s tried out in the past.
