Throughout her entire career, HAAi has been driven by what is new. Always producing new styles of music and always looking for new methods to produce that music, the Australian-born London-based DJ has spent all of 2022 sharing exciting and intriguing releases on the celebrated record label Mute Records.

HAAi, aka Teneil Throssell, has built a reputation on far more than her impressive productions though. She hosted Coconut Beats parties in the lively London neighborhood Dalston before landing shows on global radio stations like Rinse FM and Worldwide FM.

This well-deserved attention eventually became a residency at the prestigious London nightclub Phonox. Throssell played every Saturday in the intimate hotspot for two years straight all the way until autumn 2018. Such a slot is not common in a massive cultural hub like London, but she made it happen.

Following the conclusion of her residency, Throssell landed a slot on the legendary mix series, BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix, and her two-hour exploration of heady dance music landed the accolade of Essential Mix of the Year, an honor she shares with Helena Hauff, Caribou, Nicolas Jaar, Flying Lotus, and Ben Klock among others.

The next notch on her broadcast resume came in the form of a monthly show on Radio 1 which ran into 2020.

On the touring circuit, Throssell has played some of the most recognizable events all around the world including Sonar Festival and Glastonbury in addition to helming a Boiler Room broadcast.

Now in 2022, she continues to impress and excite. She’s shared 13 different original releases and remixes to her name this year alone. For the remixes, she’s had the pleasure of remixing artists like Romy, Ben Böhmer, and the current ruler of the electronic music scene, Fred Again..

With the way her career is going, it’s very likely HAAi will soon be on the same level as Fred Again… All it takes is some more experimentation.
