The Best House and Techno Tracks of 2021

The same year Jayda G finished recording her debut album, she also received her master's degree in resource & environmental management. This London-based creator is a DJ, music producer, and an environmental toxicologist.

Originally hailing from Canada, Jayda takes inspiration for her joyous take on house music from all over. Her first full length album 

was released to Ninja Tune in March of 2019. The debut LP is a blend of classic Chicago-style house and vintage drum machine funk. While some of her early EP’s, like 2018’s 

are able to combine tribal chants and church hymns with danceable beats.

In 2021, Jayda G appeared in her own mix for DJ-Kicks. A combination of funk, soul, house and disco, the mix captured the buoyant spirit of Jayda’s music and her influences. 2021 continued to be a successful year when she was nominated at the 2021 GRAMMY Awards for "Best Dance Recording." Her track “Both Of Us” was nominated, but ultimately lost to “10%” by Kaytranada and Kali Uchis. But a Grammy nomination, a DJ-Kicks set, and dancefloor recognition around the world isn’t bad for an artist’s first five years in the game.

In 2022, Jayda G released the single “Mine O’ Mine” with Aluna, fabulous singer/songwriter/producer who’s one half of the famed AlunaGeorge. She also earned a bit of mainstream recognition when she contributed a remix of pop star Dua Lipa’s song “Cool” to her album 

Acclaimed for her infectious energy as a live performer - Jayda G has played all over the world, including a renowned Boiler Room set at Dekmantel in 2017. Since then, she’s also played festivals across the world such as Glastonbury, Melt!, Night + Day Bilbao plus nights for Rhythm Section, The Hydra, Warehouse Project and more.
