Overview
Mike Skinner is not your typical DJ. Before he ever dabbled in DJing, Skinner was a rapper, songwriter, producer and musician. Before he was the DJ Mike Skinner, he was releasing music under the name “The Streets” which he retired back in 2011. The Streets was a music project led by Mike Skinner, in cooperation with four other band members, which mainly focused on vocals, arrangement and production. Skinner and company released five studio albums for this project. Back in 2017, Skinner made an Instagram post suggesting that the group may be working on tour, album and film plans to be released in 2023.
While he is generally more well known for his work on The Streets, he has made quite the name for himself as a DJ/producer in the last decade as well.
