John Monoky seems to have a voracious appetite for house music. The DJ of nearly 20 years has been producing new music like crazy and tackling marathon streaming sessions in recent years. His high energy brand of tech house has earned him a wave of new fans and supporters. Perhaps most notably thanks to his regular Feel Good Fridays takeover on BLOND:ISH’s Twitch channel, 

. His streaming sets regularly go on for over 15 hours. One set he did for the Desert Hearts live stream lasted 25 hours straight.

Bred in Los Angeles - but recently moved to Miami - Monoky went on a production binge during the pandemic. He began pumping out his happy techno music at an unstoppable rate, three tracks a day for 6 months. He says COVID was hard for producers because they lost the ability to test out new tracks to audiences, but then he found the streaming world.

Before he was amassing thousands of viewers within minutes on Twitch, Monoky was a resident at one of the best clubs in L.A. - Sound. Here, he says, he got to play with everybody: Solomun, Martinez Brothers, Steve Lawler, and Mark Kn to name a few.

Monoky cut his DJing teeth in the streets of Chicago. He would carry his laptop and every sort of connective cord.with him around town so he could plug into people’s sound systems. He played everywhere he could for days at a time. He got his first residency at a restaurant in LA called Toka Madera. He played 4 nights a week on CDJs, practicing.

Nowadays, Monoky pumps out an average of 8 EPs a year on a host of different labels. He does say, however, that it’s getting harder for him to differentiate between genres. He often follows the vibe of a track, saying “if it sounds good, I go with it.” His 

 fall between tech house, electro, melodic techno and more.
