This Picard Brothers Playlist is a Masterclass on French House

The Picard Brothers have been instrumental in shaping contemporary music over the past several years. The brothers are a French duo of record producers, songwriters, and DJs who not only release their own projects but also compose music for some of the hottest names in the music industry. Their production credits reads like a who’s who of global icons including Beyonce, Madonna, Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson, Major Lazer, Rudimental, Kehlani, Miley Cyrus, and Burna Boy, to name a few.

The Parisian brothers, birth names Maxime Picard and Clément Picard, started their music career at a young age producing beats for French rappers primarily. With a recording studio in their parents' attic, they relied on a cheap Yamaha keyboard, a drum kit, some guitars, and a cracked version of FL Studio to make music. Early in their career while browsing through Twitter they stumbled on Diplo’s email address and decided to send him a few samples of their work. Flashforward to 2011 when they met and started collaborating closely with Diplo, eventually becoming key members of his production crew. As more of their projects started to come out with him and Major Lazer the industry began to take notice of the Picard Brothers and more opportunities started cropping up. In 2018, they met Mark Ronson, leading to the pair’s highest accolades thus far - a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2019 for the contribution to “Electricity” by Silk City and Dua Lipa.

With so many hefty collaborations under their belts, The Picard Brothers shifted their focus on burgeoning their own musical project. They have reimagined and revitalized classic French stylings that trace back to Daft Punk, Laurent Garnier, and Stardust. Their touch of soulful, golden-era house can be heard on recent tracks like “Blessing In the House”, “Together”, and “I Made It”.
