Following the sold-out Disco Dom rooftop session on June, 24th Dombresky is taking the party inside Superior Ingredients to keep things going alongside Illyus & Barrientos.

Illyus & Barrientos have traveled all around the globe playing house music, but now they are finally coming to Brooklyn. The renowned duo is coming to the borough of New York City known best for its house and techno scene at the height of summer party season. With Pride weekend in full force, and NFT Week wrapping up, it will surely be an unforgettable night at the latest BKNY hotspot, Superior Ingredients on Friday, June 24.

Since hitting the scene back in 2014, the pair of Scottish producers and DJs, real names Illyus Brown and Ivan Hall Barrientos, have built their reputation on their fluid uplifting house stylings. Funky, smooth, groovy, and slick, are just four of the adjectives that can all be applied to their catalog of joyous hands up house. Some fit all four descriptors. Some go well beyond.

Vocals are their specialty, and together with renowned singers like Daniel de Bourg, Laura Davie, and Karen Harding, they’ve collaborated on music that honor the various talents each vocalist retain whilst accomplishing the goal that applies to all house cuts in history: to get people dancing.

Such a goal is one shared by Mark Knight’s prestigious house and techno imprint, Toolroom, and Illyus & Barrientos have been regulars on the label since 2016 and have shared at least a dozen releases through different branches of the Toolroom label family tree. The only constant being their knack for defying definition.

Now in this later stage of their career, their deep house inclinations remain present, but they’ve proven they can expand to other styles with ease and welcome artists across the spectrum of recorded music into their process.

Their most recent release, “Together At Last,” is a single with none other than turntablism master himself, A-trak. Released on A-trak’s Fool’s Gold Records, the cut contains the kind of sample magic A-trak has flexed time and time again with his NYC house project, Duck Sauce, along with the precision Illyus & Barrientos have maintained since the beginning of their career.

Now they will bring that precision to New York for the first time at Superior Ingredients. The BKNY house and techno scene is one of legend. The way the city feeds off of four-on-the-floor has been more than enough to convince artists and fans alike to move there.
