ARTBAT is the Kyiv-based house and techno duo which takes its name as a combination of its two members' given names: Artur and Batish. They are also one of the most successful Ukrainian acts in dance music and are currently recognized on a global scale.
In 2016, a year after the project’s launch, the duo debuted at Destino club, Ibiza, and their rise has not stopped since.
That rise is built on a foundation of music that combines power with a sense of honest exploration, leading to dance music legends like Solomun, Maceo Plex, and Richie Hawtin playing out Artbat tracks during their sets.
A major turning point for ARTBAT was the release of their debut single, “Mandrake” which remained in the Beatport top 100 chart for a whole month, making it one of the most celebrated releases in the history of Definition:Music. From there they’ve signed music to labels like Diynamic, Suara, Parallel Records, Sincopat, 303Lovers, and more.
With this diverse yet enthralling output of music, ARTBAT have made it clear they want to drive the conversation when it comes to house and techno. With the ascending status of these genres around the world, they are riding that wave while maintaining the sound’s underground integrity. Hence why worldwide audiences from Egypt, Greece, Dubai, Georgia, The United States, and more are drawn to their revered sets.
In recent years, they have increased their footprint within the dance sphere with their new record label, UPPERGROUND. Combining the underground ethos with the desire to spread their music far and wide defines this label.
Now ARTBAT has taken that philosophy to the highest point with “It’s Ours” , a collaboration with David Guetta and Idris Elba. This isn’t just Guetta and Elba welcoming Artbat into the spotlight. This is Artbat welcoming Guetta and Elba into the underground.
