When Caleb Dent was growing up in Orlando, Florida, there wasn’t much house music around. For those looking for a rocking night on the dancefloor, they’d have to trek the three hours south to Miami to find it. These days, thanks to Dent and his band of merry men at House Keepers Records, things are a little different now.

Born and raised in Orlando, Dent had a variable taste in music. His inherent love for everything from country to hip hop is now evident in his extensive backlog of song selections. A fresh face in dance music, Dent came on to the scene in 2021 with 

 a bumping six-minute single produced with his confidant Dre Mendez for 

 Records. That year he would release five more tracks with Mendez, swapping from Hood Politics Records and sollors systems until their first release with House Keepers, 

Though Dent is an avid member and supporter of House Keepers–the Orlando-based artists’ collective centered around house musicians–that hasn’t stopped him from slinging tracks on other record labels too. He’s released singles with three new labels this year alone. Though varied in backers, all his tracks showcase his well-polished production style and classic house sound. Along with Mendez and other House Keepers artists, he’s been able to create a bonafide burgeoning scene for house music in central Florida. Perhaps that’s why he’s gained enough traction in the last year to be considered a “staple” in the Orlando house scene.

In his short time on the scene, he’s been able to support artists like John Summit, Noizu, Pete Tong, Tchami, Maximono, Coyu, and more. A 2022 appearance at Florida’s Okeechobee Festival only further spread Dent’s gospel of no-nonsense tech-house. Looking toward the future, we have nothing but hope for this southern tastemaker.
