Danielle Gooding, more commonly known by her onstage moniker Flava D, is a genre-bending DJ/producer whose work dabbles in the worlds of house, UK garage, grime, hip-hop, and drum & bass. Gooding developed a passion for music early on and made the jump to trying her hand at producing—inspired by her boss at a local record store—when she was only in her teens. In the early 2010’s, her work began to garner attention, turning the heads of MCs like Wiley and Ghetts Maxsta. Soon after receiving this support, Flava D began to release a variety of tracks, including her first single, “Hold On/Home,” which she shared via Elijah and Skilliam’s UK-based, independent record label, Butterz, in 2013. She also gave listeners a taste of her take on tracks by a variety of popular artists with remixes for the likes of Aaliyah, Disclosure, and SWV.

Gooding’s career took another step after her first joint venture with Royal-T—a 2014 track called “On My Mind.” The two hit off a fruitful creative partnership and—when they brought DJ Q into the mix—became a powerhouse trio under the moniker TQD. Together they’ve released several highly successful singles, including their first, “Day & Night,” which dropped in 2015, also on Butterz. In 2017, they shared a 10-track album, ‘UKG,’ which also featured support from Skilliam and Swindle on the track “New Day.”

As a solo artist, Flava D has shared a prolific variety of full-length albums, singles, and EPs, including her 2015 debut LP, ‘More Love.’ In addition to her work with Royal-T and DJ Q as one third of TQD, she’s also collaborated with artists including My Nu Leng, Friction, Charlotte Haining, S.P.Y., and more.

Flava D’s career has also taken her across the globe, performing in venues such as London’s XOYO, where she currently holds a residency, Ibiza Rocks Hotel, and Manchester’s Warehouse Project, as well as at sought-after festivals including Hideout Fest, Tomorrowland, and Shambhala.
