With nearly three decades of experience, Gene Farris is a pioneer who has helped shape the house music landscape from his early days spinning vinyl at underground warehouse parties in Chicago to collaborations with the world's leading labels and artists. As the CEO and founder of Farris Wheel Recordings, Gene has championed house music's finest talents and contributed his own genre-defining work. Labels such as Relief, Dirtybird, ViVa Music, and Defected have all celebrated and supported Farris’s unique productions, making him a powerhouse in the scene.

Gene’s career took root in the early ‘90s as a resident DJ at The Power House, and he later held a coveted eight-year residency at Chicago’s iconic Boom Boom Room. His influence eventually reached Europe, where he held a four-year residency at Jimmy Woo in Amsterdam, deepening his dedication to innovation. A self-taught producer and engineer, Farris soon moved into the studio, crafting music that defies boundaries. Over recent years, Farris has taken the global music scene by storm, delivering unforgettable sets at major events like Arc Music Festival, Beyond Wonderland, Desert Hearts, Space Yacht, and setting the Groove Cruise ablaze with his signature, high-energy beats. His show with James Hype at Club Space turned heads, his tour across Australia and New Zealand received rave reviews, and his iconic set with Lee Foss at the renowned elrow party is one for the history books.

His discography includes classics like "Play" on Snatch!, the iconic "LOL" on Relief, and the massive club hit "Move Your Body". His Welcome To Chicago EP, released on Defected Records, has become a cult favorite and a representation of his lasting impact on the genre.

Beyond production, Farris is known for his Gene Farris & Friends events, a popular monthly party in Chicago that has hosted guests like Black Coffee, Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping, and Walker & Royce. These events highlight his ability to attract and work with some of the biggest names in the industry, maintaining his status as a vital player in today’s music scene.

A prolific collaborator, Farris has worked alongside icons such as Green Velvet, Jamie Jones, Sonny Fodera, and Harry Romero, continuously evolving and cementing himself as a staple.
