Overview

For the first time ever, Paul van Dyk brings his CORE show to New York—a groundbreaking 360-stage experience that redefines the live electronic music set-up.

On November 29th, we are thrilled to welcome the legendary Paul van Dyk to 99 Scott in New York for this special CORE performance. Born Matthias Paul on December 16, 1971, van Dyk is a pioneering German DJ, record producer, and musician. He made history as the first artist ever nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Dance/Electronic Album category. In 2005, he became the first DJ to be crowned Number One by Mixmag, and by 2008, he had sold over 3 million albums worldwide.

Paul van Dyk's journey began in the early 1990s, gaining rapid recognition with his remix of "Love Stimulation" by Humate and his iconic track "For an Angel." His Belgian-inspired stage name reflects his early influences in music. Today, he continues to reach global audiences with his radio show "VONYC Sessions with Paul" on Dash Radio.

Growing up in East Berlin, van Dyk was deeply influenced by Western radio and smuggled mixtapes. His career took off after moving between Hamburg and Berlin, making his debut at the legendary Tresor in 1991. He quickly gained prominence through performances at Andre’Hoche’s Dubmission parties and his collaboration with Cosmic Baby under the alias The Visions of Shiva, where they produced influential tracks and hosted a nationwide radio show. His music has been featured in EA Games and major film soundtracks, and he’s crafted remixes for iconic artists like Depeche Mode, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears.

Van Dyk's career is marked by numerous accolades, including a Grammy nomination and multiple International Dance Music Awards. He’s also known for his humanitarian efforts, working with children's charities and the German Red Cross. Despite a demanding tour schedule, he remains committed to producing music and hosting his popular weekly show, "Paul van Dyk's VONYC Sessions."

With countless sold-out shows, headlining major festivals, and a loyal global fanbase, Paul van Dyk remains a defining figure in music, inspiring generations of DJs and fans alike. And on November 29th, his special sound will fill the industrial, open-plan space of 99 Scott, set on the border of East Williamsburg and Bushwick. With its 20-foot ceilings, expansive main room, and industrial bones, 99 Scott is designed for nights where music and atmosphere come together perfectly. Prepare for an unforgettable experience as Paul van Dyk takes the decks for an immersive 360-stage set that will resonate through one of New York’s most authentic spaces for dance music.
