#PlasticFreeParty Compilation Release (ADE)

DJ, producer, and activist, BLOND:ISH is spearheading the release of the first-ever Bye Bye Plastic compilation titled #PlasticFreeParty. To celebrate, she's teaming up with Amsterdam's Levantine House to throw a luxurious soiree at the Gorgeous W Amsterdam on Thursday, October 20.

As part of the Amsterdam Dance Event programming marathon, it's only appropriate that they get things going with a panel discussion titled "Seriously Sustainable: Leaders & Impact Solutions in the Music Scene."

As the panel winds down, guests can check out the Green Innovators Showcase and discover what happens when "futurism" and "plastic-free" unite on the dancefloor. And then, the night will conclude with a run of epic b2b sets from compilation producers Eli Soul Clap, Elif, Gespona, Qussay, Luzi Tudor, Landikhan, Michel D, Rammö feat. Ben Juno, Reÿes, Share, and Urmet K 6:30 pm - 1 am.

We all know that the music industry, festivals, and events have a polarizing effect on climate change, and Bye Bye Plastic aims to lead the discussion on how the community can work together to transition to a plastic-free future.

The panel, moderated by BBP's managing director Camille Guitteau, includes an array of thought leaders at the intersection of music and sustainability, including: Turkish DJ and TedTalker Elif Tanverdi; Cofounder of Evolution Music—the inventors of the world's first bioplastic record—Marc Carey; Jef de Vries of the Climate Gig a site that helps artists and fans calculate and reduce their carbon footprint; Eli Goldstein of Soul Clap who works closely with DJs 4 Climate Action and is studying for an M.S. in Climate Science and Policy at Bard College's Center For Environmental Policy; and Turkish DJ, producer, and TedTalker Elif Tanverdi.

The #PlasticFreeParty compilation is curated by Paris-based DJ and production duo Chambord and consists of 14 tracks from artists that have signed on to BBP's eco-rider initiative. Each artist has committed to requesting that events they perform at provide a single-use-plastic-free DJ booth.
