Overview

After two years of waiting, the highly anticipated return of Electric Zoo is nearly upon us. The landmark New York festival returns home to Randalls Island September 3-5, 2021. EZoo always delivers a world-class lineup of artists that span the breadth of dance music. They take their animal theme to new heights each year, with awe-inspiring stage design and an overall unforgettable experience. And after such a long break, Electric Zoo Supernaturals will be an impressive three-day walk on the wild side.

Spread across four stages on lush green lawns, EZoo offers plenty of visual delights. The idyllic scenery is made grander with New York City's magnificent skyline as a backdrop.

The 2021 theme is Supernaturals, a focus on the cosmic and paranormal. An opportunity to unleash the intergalactic creature that lies within you. If past years are any indication, Supernaturals will come to life with enchanting stage designs, brilliantly curated art installations, and a lot of lasers.

Here we are at almost 200 words with no mentioned of the music. WTH right?

In its 11-year history, EZoo hosted some legendary sets like 2017’s Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz b2b and 2018's Chris Leibing and Dubfire 3-hour education in techno. And while the festival caters to every dance fan from bass music to hard dance, Gray Area is all about house and techno.

Except for Seven Lions, Friday's mainstage lineup is heavy on the house. Sam Feldt, Mime, and Bruno Martini will keep those daytime vibes rolling. Setting things up for Joyryde to make it bounce and bang. The sunset slot goes to party-tech maestro Fisher. Alesso will close it out whose recent work has veered more progressive. We may get something a bit different from the big room legend.

If you get a moment on Friday, take a trip to the Hilltop Arena for Zeds Dead. They’re known for bass music, but they drop some top-tier house as well.

On Saturday the Hilltop Arena's techno takeover features rising Mau5trap artist Rinzen and the head mouse himself performing under his Testpilot alias. Township Rebellion and Artbat’s melodic vibes are not to be missed. And the undercard is fierce with Spanish model turned DJ Sita Abellán setting it off.

Sunday School is in session for a two-day house takeover. The lineup is too thicc to mention it all, but it's a well-curated representation of what's hot in house music.

NYC’s own Westend has been slaying it on releases from Insomniac, Repopulate Mars, and Glasgow Underground. Get there early on Saturday to catch his set. UK bass house badman Chris Lorenzo is largely responsible for creating the sound that we all know and love as bass house. His UK slant on dirty house is not be missed. Bruno Furlan, the Brazillian Dirtybird phenom makes a rare stateside appearance. And Mason Maynard, the festival's second-youngest artist behind More Kismet, will make his Electric Zoo debut on Sunday.

Labor Day weekend is the official end of summer. EZoo is a blissful way to wrap up the emotional season we waited almost two years for. Spend the waning days of the best season dancing with a cast of cosmic creatures, astral aliens, intergalactic illusionists, supernatural wizards, shamans, witches, and extraterrestrial beings?
