Brought to you by the king of melodic house music Lane 8, we’ve invited his blossoming music label turned event brand This Never Happened for a Gray Area showcase on The Roof of Superior Ingredients, March 2, 2024.

The famed imprint has become a hub for exciting up-and-coming melodic house music producers and is now an event that travels all over the world. Rooted in the ethos of living in the moment, with extra focus on positivity, character and atmosphere, This Never Happened parties boast a very special concept…

Adopting a strict no-phone policy, the idea is to encourage “in-person connections” made on the dance floor. With smartphones nowhere to be seen, you can really get lost in the music and experience the full sensory-overload of a This Never Happened party.

As well as this niche, what makes these parties so special are the innate locations Lane 8 thoughtfully selects for each event. Settling for nothing less than venues that offer ‘that unique and positive vibe’, what better place than the picturesque penthouse that is Superior Ingredients!

For the occasion, the San Francisco-based producer has reeled in some of the finest talents in the genre for the occasion and we couldn't be more excited.

Carefully curated by Lane 8 himself, Danish-Egyptian rising star Ashibah will take us on a journey with her impressively unique musicality that’s breaking through the standard house music mold.

In the last year she's become a fixture on huge imprints such as Defected's D4 D4NCE, Toolroom, Solotoko and more, displaying her ability to combine her own production, exquisite self-recorded vocals, writing and composition.

Newer to the game but equally as talented, Otherwish recently marked his arrival to the music world with his debut release 'Let It Fade' on This Never Happened. Lane 8 also supported this track in his Fall 2023 mixtape, which has garnered over 100K streams in just a couple of months.

French music producer, guitarist and live act Massane creates melodic house music rich with sonic textures inspired by a wide range of genres. Attracting attention from those in the scene early on, Massane released his debut EP Visage 1 (No Return) on Lane 8's This Never Happened in early 2020. The start of a three part journey, Massane went on to release Visage 2 (Crossroads) & Visage 3 (Not Alone) garnering support from the likes of Sultan + Shepard, Le Youth, Nora En Pure, Claptone, Tritonal, Hardwell, Don Diablo and more including having his tracks featured on multiple episodes of Above & Beyond's weekly radio show Group Therapy.

Massane's collaboration with Lane 8 "And We Knew It Was Our Time" quickly garnered streams and support on Spotify leading up to the release of his debut album "Another Dawn" alongside the striking visual of Massane performing a live set at sunrise on the French Riviera. "Dawn on the French Riviera" showcases Massane playing a guitar laden set fully composed of original tracks that takes you on an emotional journey through sound amassing over 140,000 views organically in the first month. With radio support from both Sirius XM & BBC Radio 1, Massane is set for an exponential rise.

Though, the dance floor will be a phone-free space with no photos or filming - just each other, the music and the special connection that happens when those things interact. This experience we share together may, by today’s standards, have never happened. But those who dare will always know - something special did happen here.
