Born and bred in the city of Bologna, Italy, Francesco Pierfelici, otherwise known as Alignment, is one to watch in the techno scene. In an 

 with 6AM Group, the producer and DJ shared that he studied classical music and clarinet in his youth and began producing music at the young age of 14 - specifically creating hip hop beats for people in his hometown. The producer was first introduced to techno when he attended a nightclub in Riccione, Italy with his friends on the weekend. Alignment stated in an 

 with Electronic Groove, “I lived close to the club so for the weekends I went there raving with my friends and had the chance to listen to big international guests like 

, who inspired me a lot with his characteristic big kicks. I think it all started with the good vibes I had in that venue.”


He later moved to Berlin, the techno capital of the world, and was soon after signed to the label Voxnox in 2014. In addition to being signed to Voxnox, Alignment boasts a number of releases on KNTXT, Involve Records, ARTS, and Etruria Beat. (

) The producer’s talent has not gone unnoticed by his predecessors. Some of techno’s heaviest hitters have taken note of his artistry, including Charlotte De Witte, Maceo Plex, and Richie Hawtin to name a few. Alignment is slowly and steadily becoming a regular at music festivals all around Europe from Poland, to Liverpool, to Munich. With his popularity rising by the day, Alignment seems to be here to stay.
