Awakenings 2023

Awakenings Summer Festival is the momentous offspring of the legendary European event organizers of the same name. Succeeding 25 years of various Awakenings music events, the inaugural Awakenings Summer Festival took place in 2022, welcoming over 100,000 attendees over three days. With over 130 artists, it made history in its first year, becoming the biggest outdoor techno festival in the world.

The Dutch camping festival is held over three days and three nights in the summer at the entrancing Beekse Bergen wildlife park and recreational area in Hilvarenbeek, located just outside Amsterdam. The festival features a diverse lineup of techno and house ranging from deep to melodic, experimental to all out raging rave. Many of the most legendary names in electronic have performed at the festival, including Charlotte De Witte, Kölsch, Archie Hamilton, Nina Kraviz, Denis Sulta, and Ida Engberg.

The second edition of Awakenings Summer Festival takes place in Hilvarenbeek July 7-9, 2023. Alongside many returning performers, this year’s festival hosts notable names like Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, Ben Böhmer, Tale Of Us, and Richie Hawtin, amongst over a hundred other artists. Spanning the spectrum of house and techno, the festival also features hard hitters like I Hate Models, 999999999, and Klangkuenstler, groovy powerhouses like Honey Dijon and TSHA, local legends like Reinier Zonneveld, and emerging names like AMÉMÉ, Indira Paganotto, and Patrick Mason.

Not only is the talent top-notch, the production matches Awakenings’ commitment to providing the highest quality audio and visual experience possible with state-of-the-art sound systems and lighting rigs. Each stage has its own distinct theme and atmosphere, transporting festival-goers into different sonic landscapes throughout the weekend. Intertwined with the live music is a range of activities and experiences, from art installations and visual performances to yoga and meditation classes, relaxing seating areas, and even massages. Performances and activities are also found in the campgrounds, making for three days of non-stop action; though, a separate, quieter camping area is available for those who value a little more rest.
