A born and bred New Yorker, Jay Roman grew up in an innately musical household on Long Island. His father was a local "old school" DJ, so young Roman found himself exposed to a variety of great music from early on. Jay grew up with music in his blood, from Latin and house to freestyle and hip-hop.

When he was 19, though still too young to do any legal clubbing of his own, he found himself with opportunities to strut his stuff behind the DJ decks. Before long, he was playing famous spots like Pacha, Webster Hall, Santos Party House, and Schimanski. He also supported legendary New York regulars like Chus and Ceballos, Oscar G, and Boris.

By his mid-twenties, he released his first EP, 

with Klexos Records. While keeping his father's influence close to him, Roman's sound is an inspired mesh of tech house hype and hip-hop swagger. He cites his main production influences as Erick Morillo, Loco Dice, and New York's own Martinez Brothers. In that sense, Roman's sound is as homegrown as it gets. But never one to stagnate, Roman has also headlined big rooms overseas like Garabato Lounge and Huracán Café in The Dominican Republic and Club Kronos in Puerto Rico.

In the few short years since he debuted on the scene, Jay Roman has established himself as a tech house & minimal producer on the rise. From his productions to his live sets, Roman always finds a way to stand out and showcase his individuality. His signature style and flourishing mixes showcase his deep street roots and unapologetic attitude.

While staying true to his roots and remaining humble, Roman continues to ascend the ranks in NYC. With an undoubting love for his city and his music, it won't be long before this young talent is a worldwide name.
