Overview
Born and bred in Puerto Rico, Miami-based DJ and music producer Robbie Rivera has been pursuing his music career since his early teen years. At a very young age, Robbie bought himself a set of turntables in order to learn how to DJ. This led him to performing at different events like weddings and school events and later on at nightclubs. Rivera studied at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale directly after his high school graduation. There he learned how to produce music using a variety of digital audio tools.
Rivera is definitely a heavy hitter in the electronic music community and has done remixes for the likes of Madonna, Benny Benassi and Kylie Minogue. He describes his music as “sexy tough house music” in an interview he did for Love This City TV back in 2013. “Because my music has a lot of energy, it’s very tough, and has definitely pounding beats and I always throw in some cool female vocals or male vocals just to make it more appealing,” he continues.
Together with his wife, Robbie Rivera founded the Miami-based electronic music label Juicy Music which “embodies and releases Latin-influenced electro and progressive house music” (Juicy Music LinkedIn Page). A few artists on the Juicy Music roster include Coburn, Mark Knight and David Guetta just to name a few.
When asked his best advice for new producers, River answered “you want to do a record that everyone’s gonna remember, because of a vocal it had, because of a melody or a drop. I mean you have to take that risk to be completely different from everybody else” (NO BS Interview)
After several years of touring and producing, Rivera remains on the go and can be expected at several events around the United states, as well as internationally.
