Rumors is a global party brand created by Israeli DJ and producer

, known for its blend of mystery, spontaneity, and high-quality underground music. Originally launched in 2013 during the

in Mexico, Rumors was conceived as a one-off event.

The party’s immediate success, thanks to its intimate atmosphere and unpredictable lineups, led Gerber to see its potential as a long-term project. He envisioned a party that would return to the core values of electronic music: a focus on community, authentic experiences, and a sense of the unexpected.

In 2014, Gerber took Rumors to Ibiza, where it truly found its identity and global recognition. The party became a weekly fixture on the island, originally hosted at Beachouse, Playa d'en Bossa. With its beachfront location, the venue added a laid-back, organic feel to the event, in stark contrast to the more commercialized and high-energy superclubs that dominate Ibiza.

This beach setting was perfect for the ethos of Rumors - a place where the music, the environment, and the crowd connected seamlessly, offering a more intimate, free-spirited experience than Ibiza's mainstream party offerings. Though the party had an in-land stint at Las Dalias and Destino, in 2024, the beach parties continued, however at the new venue of

What really sets Rumors apart is its emphasis on surprise and mystique. Unlike most Ibiza events that heavily promote big-name lineups, the party took the opposite approach. The lineups were often unannounced, with world-class DJs appearing spontaneously, keeping the focus on the music rather than celebrity status. This unpredictability became a hallmark of the party, building anticipation and excitement among attendees who would come for the vibe, not just the names on the bill.

Musically, Rumors is an eclectic blend of house, techno, and more melodic, emotional sounds, reflecting Guy Gerber’s broad and nuanced taste. The events often featured back-to-back sets, allowing artists to explore their creative boundaries and offering attendees something truly unique each time. This openness to improvisation and collaboration has helped solidify it as a party for true music lovers.

Beyond Ibiza, Rumors has expanded internationally, with editions held in cities like Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, and Mykonos, as well as other festivals and special one-off events around the world. However, even as Rumors has grown into a global brand, it has stayed true to its roots - focusing on creating an intimate, immersive, and musically rich experience wherever it goes.

By prioritizing the experience over commercial appeal, Guy Gerber’s Rumors has carved out a unique place in the world of electronic music, offering something refreshingly different.
