Event Recommendation
Tale of Us have impressed Playa d'en Bossa long before Space reopened as Hï Ibiza. The melodic techno masters have made their Afterlife series — born out of the Afterlife label and the “odyssey through the realm of consciousness” — an Ibiza staple.
And let’s not forget their signature scenography with digital art for an all-encompassing, sensational experience under that iconic falling man.
For September 8, Tale of Us will be joined by yet another well-curated lineup of melodic masters that includes Mathame and Stephan Jolk in the Theater Room, Patrick Mason, Amelie Lens and Adiel in the more intimate Club Room, and Binaryh in the Wild Corner.
Theater Room
Tale of Us close the night with an extended set of highly-emotive tech-house and yet another melodic journey.
Mathame’s audio process began in 2013 when the Italian duo of two brothers — Amedeo and Matteo Giovanelli — lived in a forest by the Mount Etna volcano on the eastern coast of Sicily. Since then, the two have carried their dreamy medley of atmospheric basses and vocals worldwide in Los Angeles, India, Prague, Amsterdam, Beirut, and more.
Inspired by the likes of Aphex Twin and Modera, Stephan Jolk’s much-anticipated eight-track EP Analogy debuted on the Afterlife label in 2020 and is a melodic musical journey with a cathartic balance of peaks and subdued moments.
Club Room
The Berlin-based, multidisciplinary artist Patrick Mason is bound to serve the Club Room a highly-energized set and loads of extravagance. The artist set up a collaborative project along with Radio Slave titled SRVD and has performed at spaces ranging from Catch One in L.A. to Berghain’s Panorama Bar.
Amelie Lens’ gigs frequently sell out, and it’s no surprise. The Belgian producer debuted her first EP, Let It Go, on the Italian imprint Lyase and quickly rose to become one of the biggest names in the European techno scene with her high-energy sets — later launching her record label, Lenske. In 2021, she joined BBC’s Radio 1 Residency line-up along with Joy Orbison, Disclosure, and DJ EZ.
A resident DJ at the Goa Ultrabeat parties in Rome, the Roman dub techno legend ADIEL made her mark all across Europe, from Circoloco to Berghain to Dekmantel. Things got exciting in 2020 when she released the EP Raso on her imprint Danza Tribale with Northern Electronics co-founder Anthony Linell.
Hailing from São Paulo, Brazil is the duo Binaryh composed of Rene and Camila. Their debut EP Primary Code on the Steyoyoke Black label was an “ode to the mathematical and technological age”. Earlier this year, they released “Seyfert” via the Afterlife label. Their success has carried them through China, Germany, Greece, Spain, Lebanon, Argentina, and more.
