Ape Drums & Guests
Brooklyn, New York

Overview
Known globally through his work with Major Lazer, the Houston-born producer has recently shifted focus back to his own lane — pulling from Afro-tech, dancehall, and percussion-heavy club sounds that connect directly to his roots. With tracks like the “Like Dat” remix and “23” stacking millions of plays, his music balances accessibility with weight — designed for physical movement, but built with care.
Since first making his name in 2014 with “Basement” and joining Major Lazer in 2019, Ape Drums has performed everywhere from Coachella to HARD Day of the Dead, and collaborated with artists across genres. But it’s the solo sets that tap deepest — stripped-back, rhythm-first, and tied to the same instincts he built as a teenage breakdancer trying to move the room.
