Ape Drums with Awen [Hybrid]
Brooklyn, New York

Overview
This Sunday, February 15 — the heart of Valentine’s Day weekend — we’re taking it to the roof. Bring your partner, your lover, or whoever’s been holding it down on the dancefloor next to you. Ape Drums headlines the day, backed by AWEN, Tiffy Vera, Firungi, and ASMOT.
Known worldwide through his work with Major Lazer, the Houston-born producer has recently shifted focus back to his own lane — pulling from Afro-tech, dancehall, and percussion-heavy club sounds that connect directly to his roots. With tracks like the “Like Dat” remix and “23” stacking millions of plays, his music balances accessibility with weight — designed for physical movement, but built with care.
Since first making his name in 2014 with “Basement” and joining Major Lazer in 2019, Ape Drums has performed everywhere from Coachella to HARD Day of the Dead, and collaborated with artists across genres. But it’s the solo sets that tap deepest — stripped-back, rhythm-first, and tied to the same instincts he built as a teenage breakdancer trying to move the room.

Joining Ape Drums is AWEN, the Paris-based vocalist, producer, and DJ whose genre-crossing sound draws from Afro house, melodic techno, and spiritual club traditions. Her breakout moment came with “Your Voice” and its Adam Port remix — a track that’s now nearing 50 million streams — quickly positioning her as one of the most powerful new voices in the scene.
She’s since performed at major global festivals like Coachella and Tomorrowland, and released collaborations with artists including WhoMadeWho, Jan Blomqvist, Kitty Amor, and Djeff. AWEN’s live sets blend DJing with vocals, creating emotionally charged moments that pull from her Senegalese heritage and deep sense of intention.

Her music has been released on respected imprints across the world, and most recently on Kanté, the label she launched to gain full creative control and amplify other boundary-pushing talent. A former lawyer with a PhD, AWEN brings depth and clarity to every part of her work — whether she’s onstage, in the studio, or building space for artists like her to thrive. This performance marks a rare chance to experience her sound in such an intimate, open-air setting.

Tiffy Vera joins the lineup, bringing her epic sound to the rooftop. Born in New York and raised in Asunción, Paraguay, her sets reflect the range of her background — from deep and melodic house to Afrobeat and lesser-known Latin styles. She’s shared stages with RÜFÜS DU SOL, Bedouin, Odesza, Pablo Fierro, Carlita, and more, and has played across cities like Miami, New York, Bogotá, Paris, Madrid, San Juan, and Asunción. Her recent appearances at venues like Factory Town, Club Space, Floyd, and Superior Ingredients have built her reputation as an artist with real presence and strong direction.
Firungi also joins the lineup, bringing a cultural perspective to the party. An Indian American artist, DJ, and event producer based in Brooklyn, Firungi built his name through his genre-crossing event series Firungi Funk. With roots across Mumbai, Los Angeles, London, and more, his sets reflect a lifelong connection to sound systems and storytelling from around the world. His music has earned support from names like Keinemusik, Dennis Cruz, Bedouin, Marco Carola, Damian Lazarus, and Jyoty, and he’s shared stages with Chris Lake, Prospa, Bontan, and Sarz.
Warming up the decks is local act, ASMOT. It all goes down on the roof. A lineup that spans styles, cities, and stories — Ape Drums, AWEN, Tiffy Vera, Firungi, and ASMOT — all coming through with their own take on movement and sound. Day into night, no skips, just solid energy start to finish.
