, the Houston-born producer has spent the past few years on the road with the group — and now he’s stepping into his own lane with a solo sound rooted in raw percussion, Afro-tech, and dancehall.

From the early days dissecting cassette tapes in Texas to playing massive shows with RL Grime and joining Major Lazer in 2019, Ape Drums has followed rhythm and instinct through every chapter of his career. He’s played iconic stages across the globe—from Ultra and Coachella to rowdy dancefloors in South America and Europe—and now he’s sharpening his focus on darker, stripped-back sounds that still hit hard.
