BLUE: Sofia Kourtesis, Laurence Guy, Lauren Murada
Brooklyn, New York

Overview
Berlin-based, Peruvian-born artist Sofia Kourtesis makes her Gray Area Blue Series debut on April 20th on our beloved Roof at Superior Ingredients.
Coming off superstar sets at Sonar, Primavera Sound, Glastonbury, and ION Festival in Albania, as well as sharing stages with Bicep, Flume, Caribou, Âme, and Dixon, Kourtesis has solidified herself as one of the most compelling artists in the music industry today. From underground clubs in Berlin to some of the world’s biggest festival stages, her ability to weave euphoric, transportive soundscapes has blown away audiences across the globe.
Her debut album, “Madres” (Ninja Tune), is a deeply personal and sonically rich body of work, dedicated to both her mother and neurosurgeon Peter Vajkoczy, who played a pivotal role in saving her mother’s life. Featuring a fusion of Latin American rhythms, Berlin club sensibilities, and intricate vocal sampling, the album has received widespread acclaim, earning features in The New York Times, Pitchfork, Mixmag, DJ Mag, and Resident Advisor.
Joining the party is London-based DJ and producer Laurence Guy, whose two acclaimed albums and releases on Studio Barnhus, Ninja Tune, and Shall Not Fade have propelled him to international recognition.
Adding some New York flair, Lauren Murada has been a staple in the city’s disco scene for nearly a decade, holding a Good Room residency with her party Love Games, curating for ROVR, selecting records with L&L&L Record Club, and hosting on The Lot Radio.

From Sofia’s breakout single “La Perla” to the politically charged “Estación Esperanza” featuring Manu Chao, and the club-ready “Si Te Portas Bonito”, Sofia’s music is as fitting for the dancefloor as it is for introspective late-night listening. Expect a night of lush melodies and transcendent storytelling against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline.
We’re excited to welcome Sofia back—especially now, for a Blue Series performance. Get ready for a big one!
