Event Recommendation
Ibiza’s fiercest residency returns for a massive 22-week run in 2022. Glitterbox runs religiously every Sunday from May - October at Hï Ibiza. Featuring jaw-dropping production and exceptional disco and house music, Glitterbox is a joyous celebration of LGBT and club-kid culture.
On September 18, Bob Sinclar, Hifi Sean, John Morales, Kiddy Smile, Louie Vega, Melon Bomb, Mousse T., and Roger Sanchez grace the stage. Accompanied by dancers, drag queens, club kids, and every kind of party-goer, Glitterbox hopes to give you the experience of a lifetime.
DJ Christophe Le Fraint–better known under his performance moniker Bob Sinclar–helped to spread the sounds of French house to international fans in the late 90s. He’s now the head of French label Yellow Productions and a Grammy nominee.
Hifi Sean likes to describe his music as ‘electronic, psychedelic soul.’ In addition to writing and producing his own solo album, Sean is passionately dedicated to his live sets, holding down residencies and guest appearances at Shoreditch House, East Bloc, Ministry of Sound, and more.
Bronx native John Morales will bring the Studio 54 vibes to Glitterbox this week. After spending his teens spinning at his father’s bar, the house musician garnered official gigs at the aforementioned legendary NYC disco club.
Pierre Hache, better known by his stage names Keehdi Mizrahi and Kiddy Smile, is a French DJ, dancer, television personality, and actor. The young producer has become something of an LGBTQ icon, particularly in the underground ballroom scene from whence he came. Earlier this year, he was announced as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race France.
Louie Vega’s award-winning DJ career draws inspiration from house, salsa, jazz, afro-beat, gospel, and more. His weekly residency in NYC and constantly inspired productions have spawned multiple Grammy wins, plus a star-studded full-length album in 2021.
Local Ibiza collective Melon Bomb will also make an appearance. Some say their blend of disco and house “encapsulates the very spirit of the island.”
A little campy, a bit effervescent, and with lots of taste - Mousse T. has been invading dancefloors since 1990. His blend of disco and house spawned cheeky hits like “Horny” and “Sex Bomb,” both smashing hits for this Turkish legend.
Roger Sanchez is a Grammy-winning, Dominican-American DJ and producer. In the early 90s, he helped make Strictly Rhythm one of the premier labels for great electronic music, and his influence has only grown as the decades roll by. Sanchez has been commemorated by the DJ Awards as “Best House DJ” four times. He’s maintained regular summer residencies in Ibiza and founded his own label Stealth Records in 2002.
