OCHO 16
Overview
Gray Area is heading back to the airwaves this Saturday, June 24 with the next edition of OCHO. Eight more amazing artists. Eight more hours of nonstop exclusive mixes beginning at 4 pm EST on Diplo’s Revolution, SiriusXM Channel 52.
Listen to OCHO on Sirius XMKicking things off is America’s own ascending star in the realm of melodic house and techno, Aaron Suiss. Though he is American born and raised, he currently resides on the Thai island of Ko Pha Ngan, channeling the energy of his tropical and natural surroundings into infectious, organic grooves.
Then the Polish veterans Catz 'n Dogz will come in hot with a mix that spans their ever-eclectic catalog. With 20 years of experience in dance music under their belt, this duo has produced every genre under the sun, and every genre that belongs under the ground as well.
Someone who is also quite familiar with underground sounds is the next artist, Cole Knight. Making her name as a DJ by playing impressive events such as Coachella and Jame Jones’ Paradise In The Park, she is now venturing into production as well, with her first remix: an acid-y breakbeat version of Diplo and Miguel’s “Don’t Forget My Love.”
Following Cole Knight is HUGEL, who, despite hailing from France, is the master of the Latin-house with over nine million monthly listeners on Spotify and numerous tracks that have over 10 million on-demand streams, all of which channel that fire only Latin music can provide.
To keep things in the Latin sphere, Jubilee will implement her South Florida roots for her OCHO mix, tapping into sounds of reggaeton and Miami bass upon which she built her career as an artist.
The ever-elusive m.O.N.R.O.E. is also blessing the OCHO airwaves this month with his minimalistic sound that’s landed him releases on premier record labels in house and techno like Get Physical, Cuttin’ Headz, and Viva Music.
For the penultimate mix of the broadcast, the Australian wunderkind Odd Mob is offering a mix full of the party-starting tech house that has him playing all over the world. No matter what time zone you’re in—whether it’s the hour to prepare for a night out or to clean the kitchen—this mix is guaranteed to raise the mood.
Closing things out, Oppidan taps in from the United Kingdom to send off OCHO listeners with a mix of one of the country’s favorite genres: UK Garage. The tempo is high, the beats are tight, and the rhythm is undeniable.
