Wakyin with Ferra Black & Sparrow

On January 31, catch Wakyin as he returns to New York for a special night at the Knockdown Center. The Dominican-Puerto Rican artist has seen a rapid rise in the global music scene, fueled by his breakout track “Fruta Fresca”—a viral hit now sitting at over 65 million streams on Spotify and nearly 3 million views on YouTube. The night also features Ferra Black, Sparrow, and WEMI, rounding out the lineup with a diverse mix of groove-led house sounds.

Wakyin’s ability to fuse reggaeton, house, and Afro-Latin elements into high-energy sets has landed him on major stages across the U.S. and Europe. In the past year alone, he’s played at The Vanguard in Orlando, Jolene Soundroom in Miami, EDC Orlando, EDSEA, Under the K Bridge in NYC, Cova Santa in Ibiza, and Thuishaven in Amsterdam. One of his biggest milestones to date was going back-to-back with Gordo during a packed set in Ecuador—just a year after seeing him play GA.

Sparrow is on the bill, bringing a globally rooted house sound shaped by years of studio work and international touring. The Swiss DJ and producer is one half of Sparrow & Barbossa, a project that became a key name in Afro and Latin house, earning over 30 million streams and chart-topping releases like Yeke, Nterini, and a #1 Afro House Beatport record with their Lady rework alongside Mojo. He’s collaborated with artists including Black Coffee, Keinemusik, Louie Vega, Sia, and Adam Port, and has performed at major stages such as Tomorrowland, Circoloco Ibiza, Coachella, Space Miami, and the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Joining the party is Ferra Black, LA-born and part of both LTF Records and Cloonee’s Hellbent roster. He brings a stripped-down, groove-forward sound to the bill and has played venues like Fabrik alongside Chris Stussy, The Martinez Brothers, Solomun, and many more. He’s also previously played a Gray Area show with Flow boss Franky Rizardo—making this a set not to be missed.
