Berlin-based producer and DJ LOVRA has quickly become one of the standout names in dance music. She has been making waves outside of the studio as well; it didn't take long for the up-and-coming artist to get David Guetta's attention.
“I met David Guetta in Pacha, Ibiza and we had a really good connection. I also had a chance to play for him for F*** Me, I'm Famous at Pacha which was really good. I was also a resident DJ for him at Ushuaïa in Ibiza in 2018 and 2019. Every Monday, I played for him and that had a big influence on my career at the time,” LOVRA shared with Gray Area during her Spotlight interview.
The house music legend not only signed her as an official resident at BIG, his huge party at Ibiza’s world-famous Ushuaia Beach Club, but he also brought her on as a support act for his global 2019 tour.
“Then, everybody was interested in LOVRA," she said. "'Who’s that German girl who was opening for David Guetta and is going with him on a world tour?' Of course, it was a big thing. And yeah, it was a big door opener for four and a half shows around the world, and I'm so grateful. It was really the time of my life playing in Ibiza for him, and on the world tour.”
The iconic Ministry of Sound also added LOVRA as a global resident. Her funky house sounds had her touring the world matching seamlessly as a supporting act for the likes of Armand Van Helden, Basement Jaxx, Todd Terry, Felix da Housecat, and many others.
“Ministry of Sound London found me on SoundCloud,” LOVRA explains. “They emailed saying they loved my sound and would love to work with me. I started touring with them as a resident DJ across the globe. That was a major milestone because I was a nobody, at this time. I had few shows, but no name in the scene.”
With her path seemingly written in the stars, only time will tell where LOVRA’s music will lead her in the years to come.
