Overview
It’s not often that an artist can appear as comfortable on the radio as they are in dark, dirty nightclubs, but that’s precisely the appeal of MEDUZA. The Italian production trio is comprised of Luca de Gregorio, Mattia Vitale, and Simone Giani. Their melodic, energetic sound is an accessible, successful effort to “return house music to daytime radio.”
In 2019, MEDUZA released their debut single, “Piece Of Your Heart” featuring the British production trio Goodboys. A smashing success, the record has now seen 2 billion streams globally and peaked at #2 on the Official UK Charts. If that weren’t enough, the track earned a Grammy nod for Best Dance Recording in 2019. Not bad for a debut single. But if the threesome felt any pressure to live up to their debut, they didn’t show it. Their follow-up track, “Lose Control” (again with Goodboys and UK songwriter Becky Hill) reached the UK Top 40 in its first week. The single has now notched upwards of 1.5 billion streams.
In addition to the Milan natives’ multiple Diamond, Platinum, and Gold certifications for their own tracks, they’ve been called on many times to provide stellar remixes for others. Ed Sheeran, Florence + The Machine, MK, Friendly Fires, and Ritual are just a few artists who tapped MEDUZA to lend their golden touch to their records.
Off of the charts, MEDUZA is gracing stages at Fabric London, Elrow, We Are Fstvl, TOFFLER in Rotterdam, and Warehouse Project in Manchester. Like so many others, 2020 created a hiatus on MEDUZA’s touring schedule. Never ones to slow down, they took to the studio instead. In October 2020, they released “Paradise” with Dermot Kennedy.
On November 11, 2020, MEDUZA performed a special live set in Cava dei Balestrieri in San Marino. The special show was streamed on Twitch in conjunction with Live Nation and Fuser, a new video game that simulates the experience of a live DJ.
