Day Trip Festival

Day Trip Festival is a two-day celebration of house music under the California sun in Long Beach. Thrown by dance event moguls Insomniac, Day Trip started as a single-day party in 2018 at the company's LA nightclub, Academy in Hollywood, making way for the inaugural multi-day festival starting in 2021. The first Day Trip Festival took place at the NOS Event Center, but beginning in 2022, the event moved to a more grandiose and idylic venue, the Queen Mary Waterfront. The event has grown immensely, but it’s always stayed true to its mantra: House Music All Day Long.

As a curator and authority in house music, Day Trip Festival showcases some of the most potent tastemakers of the genre across two stages. FISHER, MK, John Summit, Lane 8, Artbat, Diplo, Chris Lorenzo, MEDUZA, Sofi Tukker, and LP Giobbi, among many others, have all performed at the festival in the past. Some of last year’s performers included Bob Moses, Armand Van Helden, Dennis Ferrer, Maya Jane Cole, and Chris Lorenzo.

This year’s Day Trip Festival takes place June 24-25, 2023. Hosting a similar range of artists as previous years and multiple returning faces, notable names gracing the third edition include Dom Dolla, Dombreksy, Duke Dumont, Blond:ish, MEDUZA, Archie Hamilton, Nora En Pure, Noizu, and Claptone, amongst many more. Special sets include Robin S’ live 30-year anniversary of “Show Me Love,” Walker & Royce’s extended day party set, and a closing set from Nora En Pure b2b Tinlicker.

For those who want to continue the party into the night, Day Trip’s nocturnal counterpart, Night Trip, brings the house programming into the late hours. Hop aboard the renowned Queen Mary, which has reopened after three years of being closed, for house music all night long.

Making for a more comfortable experience, Insomniac has added more shade structures, dancefloor space, and enhanced VIP offerings this year. One of the most exciting additions to this year's festival is the opportunity for attendees to stay overnight on the Queen Mary itself. Spend the day partying on land, head to the boat’s rooftop deck for the after-party, then walk across the ship to your cabin to sleep; then repeat the next day.
