From Small Town to Big Sound: Shay De Castro’s Story

Shay De Castro’s story begins in a city that barely whispered the name of electronic music and has risen as an exhilarating techno talent. From her early days, music wasn’t just a hobby; it was her lifeline. As a child, the magnetic pull of music was evident, and during his teenage years, her obsession with techno became unstoppable. So much so, she'd even go to lengths like hacking into her school’s computers to discuss the latest tracks with European pals.

Journey Into Sound - Shay De Castro Remix

Fast forward to today, and the LA-based dynamo is no longer just a fan. She's a force. Shay's music—a perfect blend of pulsating atmospheres and undeniable rhythm—has graced some of the most iconic electronic labels. Factory 93, Kraftek, and Respekt Recordings have all proudly featured Shay's tracks. And it’s not just the labels that have taken note. Big industry names have shown their support like Adam Beyer at Tomorrowland, ANNA at Exit Festival, or being featured on Drumcode Radio by Pleasurekraft.

Debut

Gray Area's new venture, "Debut," aims to bridge the international house music community by bringing established and emerging artists to cities they've never performed in. This initiative seeks to expand artists' fan bases and provide fans with fresh, exhilarating musical experiences. Having played a role in introducing major artists and brands like elrow and Awakenings to new audiences in the past, Gray Area believes in the magic of first-time experiences. By promoting artists in new venues and cities, they hope to cultivate a thriving, unified house music ecosystem. Debut is not merely a marketing strategy but embodies Gray Area's commitment to fostering collaboration, unity, and musical discovery.
