Overview
Abode was founded in 2014 by Kai Cant, a London-based DJ and promoter, to create a community-driven event series focused on quality house and techno music. The brand quickly built a strong following in the UK, particularly due to its residencies at iconic venues like Studio 338 in London. Abode's reputation for delivering top-tier DJ lineups and a high-energy party atmosphere helped it stand out in a competitive market.
In 2017 the brand secured a weekly residency at Amnesia, hosting the famous terrace with the established brand Do Not Sleep hosting the club room.
In 2018, Abode shifted its residency to Eden, another iconic Ibiza club located in San Antonio. This move was part of Eden's broader strategy to rejuvenate its programming and attract a younger, more music-focused crowd. Abode's presence at Eden helped cement the club's reputation as a go-to destination for house and techno enthusiasts.
In 2019, Abode also hosted events at Sankeys Ibiza, a venue known for its underground vibe and dedication to electronic music. This further established Abode's presence on the island and solidified its reputation as one of the leading party brands in Europe with festivals in the UK and the launch of Abode on the Rock in Gozo, Malta.
Like many other events and venues, Abode's activities in Ibiza were significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The brand was further halted with the bankruptcy of The Pollen Group which acquired the brand that year.
After the pandemic, Abode resumed its events with return festivals in Malta and the UK and a return to Eden Ibiza, a firm favourite with the younger and UK clubbers that flock to the island each year. The brand continues to deliver high-quality house music and the 2024 season saw a brand partnership with reputable label Kaluki to help to draw numbers in a heavily contested Sunday night on the island.
Abode's international success is a testament to the brand's ability to adapt, innovate, and connect with audiences, both on the island and beyond.
