Awakenings Joris Voorn Presents Spectrum (By Day) - Gashouder
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Overview
The inimitable Joris Voorn is one of the leading talents within the Dutch electronic music scene. Hailing from Holland, Voorn has represented the underground house and techno for years, elevating the music to a global scale.
His contributions are many—single handedly, he’s taken the genres to new heights by raising Amsterdam’s underground electronic dance music to unprecedented levels. Thanks to him and his peers, the small city is now globally recognized as one of the leading exporters of electronic dance music.
Launched in 2017, the artists’ Spectrum concept has developed into a brand that encompasses nightlife, spans festival stages, and even heralds a global broadcast radio show that emphasizes his eclectic musical taste and adeptness in curation.
Joris Voorn will continue his lifetime residency for Amsterdam’s Awakenings during a specially curated day event at the Gashouder on October 22, featuring a plethora of the biggest names in house and techno: Ben Klock & Marcel Dettmann, Lea Occhi, Len Faki, Onyvaa, and Setaoc Mass.
Ben Klock is bringing his unique take on 90s rave music to the Spectrum-curated event in a special B2B performance with Marcel Dettmann, one of Berghain’s regulars. With both talents bouncing between pure techno, 90s rave music, and Chicago house, this is one Awakenings ADE performance you won’t want to miss.
Passeport Records label boss Onyvaa is gearing up to share curated selections from her record crate, one she’s scouted from travels, that includes sounds of Detroit, warehouse techno, and plenty of vintage early 90s vinyls.
Carrying the proverbial torch into tomorrow’s techno legacy are SK_eleven imprint founder Setaoc Mass, Figure label boss Len Faki, and the dynamic Lea Occhi.
Their music continues to galvanize and pioneer a new sound of techno—one that gives a nod to the old techno heads while winking at a new generation of techno enthusiasts.
Awakenings Joris Voorn Presents Spectrum (By Day) at the Gashouder is officially SOLD OUT.
