Awakenings New York
Brooklyn, New York
Overview
On September 20th, the Dutch-born powerhouse brand Awakenings is touching down in New York for the first time in a decade — and they’re not coming quietly. Known worldwide for their massive indoor and outdoor techno events, Awakenings has been at it for over 30 years, starting from late-night raves in Amsterdam to hosting some of the biggest festivals Europe has ever seen.
Founded by Rocco Veenboer in 1997 with a party inside the legendary Gashouder, Awakenings quickly grew into a heavyweight. From packed-out nights in Rotterdam and Eindhoven to their iconic multi-day festivals in Spaarnwoude and Hilvarenbeek, the brand now draws over 300,000 visitors a year and has welcomed more than 3.5 million techno fans since its inception.
Now, they’re bringing that same raw energy and signature production back to New York on Friday, September 20, taking over Brooklyn Mirage for a 12-hour day-into-night marathon — with talk of stretching it all the way into the early morning. For this one-night-only showcase, all three stages — the Great Hall, King’s Hall, and the open-air Mirage — will be fully activated. And in proper Awakenings fashion, a wave of custom-built production elements is being shipped in straight from Amsterdam. Expect lasers, indoor fireworks, and setups built to completely warp the room around you.
This isn’t a stage drop — it’s a full-scale operation, backed by ID&T and Superstruct, the team behind the biggest and most respected names in the game. Awakenings isn’t just throwing a party; they’re importing a piece of their history and legacy to New York for one insane night.
For techno heads, this one’s not just another stop on the calendar — it’s a serious marker. Awakenings is back. Don’t miss it.
