Our prospering BLUE concept is back, as we bring you the legendary Todd Edwards, acclaimed godfather of garage and true house music icon, for a daytime, open-air Gray Area debut on The Roof of Superior Ingredients, June 16th 2024.

A name synonymous with the pulsating beats of UK Garage, a genre he played an instrumental role in shaping, Todd's journey into the world of music began with humble roots, marked by a small consumer-based keyboard purchased with his college education savings. Little did anyone know that this modest beginning would lead to a career spanning over three decades, and what most artists can only dream of, a Grammy win.

Growing up in East Orange and Newark, Todd found his initial inspiration through Tony Humphries' thumping sets at Club Zanzibar. By 1995, Todd was already making waves with soulful and skippy records that became the heartbeat of the burgeoning UK garage scene.

One of Todd's defining moments came through his collaboration with Daft Punk, making him one of the only artists to have worked with the iconic duo twice, with contributions to the success of ‘Face to Face’ and ‘Fragments of Time’.

In recent years, Todd's repute has been propelled by a series of reissues on Defected Records, eternalizing his timeless grooves, with further collaborations with Groove Armada, The Blessed Madonna, Interplanetary Criminal, Tchami, and others, showcasing his ability to adapt while staying true to his unique style.

As Todd Edwards looks to the future, armed with a plethora of new tracks and a born-again DJ spirit, his journey continues to inspire, reminding us all that music is not just a profession but a passion that transcends challenges and stands the test of time.

Oh, and he’s not alone. Mixing things up with his diverse soundscape of genres across the spectrum, Ardalan Noghre-Kar, better recognized by his DJ moniker Ardalan, will be joining Edwards on the picturesque Roof of S-I.

Upon moving from his native Iran and settling in California in 2006, Ardalan immersed himself in the vibrant underground scene of the Bay Area, drawn to the pulsating rhythms of house and techno at legendary Sunset Sound System parties. It was amidst this sonic tapestry that Ardalan found himself at a fateful BBQ in San Francisco, a gathering that would lay the groundwork for his serendipitous encounter with the Dirtybird crew, who welcomed him into their fold with open arms.

Since his breakout track with Justin Martin 'Mr. Spock' catapulted Dirtybird Records into the limelight back in 2010, the head-strong artist has gone on to traverse quite the musical journey with regular releases on profound labels such as Desert Hearts, Catz 'n Dogz’ PETS Recordings, as well as his timeless debut album 'Mr. Good' back in 2019.

Now, with a career spanning over a decade, a host of critically acclaimed EPs, a forthcoming EP on HE.SHE.THEY later this year, and the tantalizing promise of a second full-length album on the horizon, Ardalan's influence continues to reverberate throughout the global dance music scene.
