Art Basel is almost here, and we’re thrilled to invite you to an unforgettable Deep Root Tribe party with Francis Mercier and special guests at the iconic Toe Jam Backlot on Friday, December 6th! This night promises a fusion of afro and tribal beats, creating an iconic celebration for afro house fans.
Headlining the event is Francis Mercier, founder of Deep Root Records and a driving force in afro house. Mercier’s genre-defining work has earned recognition from Forbes, Billboard, and DJ Mag, with his tracks regularly playing on Tomorrowland One Radio and BBC Radio 1. He’s collaborated with labels like Sony, Universal, and Mad Decent, working with icons such as Diplo, Major Lazer, and BLOND:ISH. Mercier has been supported by Black Coffee, Vintage Culture, and his tracks have also been licensed by brands like Disney, Porsche, and Netflix.
Joining Mercier is MoBlack, the Italian DJ and producer who has received support from big names like Black Coffee and Pete Tong and has played at major festivals like Terminus and Brunch Elektronik. From Denver, DJ duo Peace Control brings their breakout remix of Fireboy DML’s “Peru” to the mix, earning them spots at iconic venues like DC-10 Circoloco, Jolene Miami, CityFox Brooklyn Mirage, and more. UK-based Alan Dixon, a resident at London’s Savage and a rising disco sensation, has performed from Glastonbury to Ministry of Sound, bringing a fresh vibe to the night.
Also joining is Gray Area’s resident DJ, Luna Mar, known for her dynamic sets with elrow and opening for acts like Franky Rizardo. Rounding out the lineup are Joezi, Saraga, Adam Nazar, and Kanykei, each adding their unique styles to the night.
The Toe Jam Backlot in Miami’s Wynwood Art District, with its 22,000 sq. ft. of eclectic decor, two stages, VIP room, four bars, and top-tier sound system, sets the perfect backdrop for this afro house magic. We can’t wait to see you on the dance floor!

The Toe Jam Backlot, located in Miami’s Wynwood Art District, is an eclectic venue with 22,000 square feet of space. Known for its unique decor, which includes retro jukeboxes and distinctive art, the venue features two stages (indoor and outdoor), a VIP room, four bar setups, and a state-of-the-art sound system, making it the perfect setting for a night of afro house magic.
