Mimmo Falcone, known professionally as MoBlack, is an Italian DJ, producer, and label founder recognized as one of the key figures shaping contemporary Afro House. Based between Italy and Ghana for much of his career, MoBlack’s global perspective has helped bridge African-rooted rhythms with the broader world of underground electronic music.
His entry into music began with an early interest in rhythm and sound that evolved into production and DJing, leading to the creation of MoBlack Records in 2013. The label quickly became a central platform for Afro House, providing exposure to both established and emerging artists across continents. Through its catalog, MoBlack has introduced a refined and globally resonant interpretation of Afro-influenced electronic music, emphasizing depth, emotion, and cultural connection.
From 2016 to 2018, MoBlack served as the A&R Manager for Traxsource’s Afro House division, where he played a significant role in shaping how the genre was represented on digital platforms. His work during that period contributed to Afro House being officially recognized as a category on Beatport, marking an important moment in the genre’s evolution within the electronic music industry.
As a DJ, MoBlack has performed worldwide, appearing at major festivals such as Terminus and Brunch Elektronik, as well as clubs and events across Europe, Africa, and the Americas. His sets blend Afro House, melodic techno, and organic elements, showcasing a deep understanding of rhythm and emotion. He has earned recognition and consistent support from notable artists including Black Coffee, &ME, Rampa, Solomun, and Pete Tong, underscoring his influence within the global scene.

MoBlack’s production style draws from his years living in Ghana, where he immersed himself in West African culture and sound. His music often reflects the intersection of tradition and modernity—melding organic percussion, atmospheric layers, and hypnotic grooves into compositions that resonate beyond borders.
