Overview
Mary Droppinz is one of those artists who just can’t pick a genre—and the entire dance music industry is here for it. Her versatility and range of sounds have made her a valuable addition to every lineup. Now, it's time for her to bring that eclectic sound, spanning across breaks, bass, UK garage, electro, house, techno, acid, drum and bass, and hip-hop, to the Roof of Superior Ingredients on November 24th.
Born Alyssa Johnson in Omaha, Nebraska, Mary Droppinz’s journey into music was heavily influenced by her father, a seasoned drummer. In LA, she refined her craft at IO Academy, where she developed the technical skills that would later make her one of the most exciting selectors in the U.S.
Over the past year, the fashionista has taken her talent to some of the biggest stages in the world. She has played at major festivals and venues, including EDC Las Vegas, Red Rocks, Amnesia Ibiza, Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Mission Ballroom, Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Brooklyn Mirage, Desert Hearts, and held a residency at Discopussy in Las Vegas. Each of these sets have leveled her up as a standout act at every event.
Mary Droppinz’s talent extends beyond her DJ sets to her production work. Her blend of breakbeats and bass-driven tracks has become instantly recognizable, earning her support from major press outlets like Forbes, Gray Area, Billboard, EDM.com, EDM Identity, Magnetic Mag, and The Hollywood Times. In just four years of releasing tunes, she has amassed over half a million streams on Spotify for some of her tracks. Her discography includes three EPs on Zeds Dead’s Altered States label and remixes for high-profile artists like Justin Martin, LP Giobbi, Deekline & FreQNasty, and Joluca.
Mary Droppinz’s sound, style, swag, and performances have earned her the support of industry heavyweights, including Hiroko Yamamura, Zeds Dead, Skrillex, REZZ, Skream, Tape B, SOFI TUKKER, Lee Foss, John Summit, Mikey Lion, Mija, and Justin Jay.
What truly sets Mary Droppinz apart is her mission to educate and inspire. Through her involvement with LP Giobbi’s Femme House, she teaches music production and DJing, helping to pave the way for the next generation of artists. Her goal is to create a safe, inclusive environment that transcends the dance floor, allowing people to connect not just with the music but with each other.
