Event Recommendation
The Solomun+1 season at Pacha comes to a close on October 16, ouch! There are two more nights to make the most out of, though...
As per tradition for these legendary Solomun +1 nights, the techno titan invites a single guest for each edition. The night kicks off with the plus one opening at midnight before handing over that signature DJ booth to Solomun, after which both play b2b until closing.
The 2022 season of the residency kicked off on May 22 and comes to a close on October 16.
Some of the hottest names on the global circuit have joined Solumun over the span of this summer’s residency, including Midland, Âme, Christian Nielsen, Keinemusick, Trance Wax, Jamie xx, Dixon, Adriatique, Sofia Kourtesis, and Gerd Janson.
For the penultimate night of the season at Pacha on October 9, Solomun will be joined by Erol Alkan, the London clubbing legend who describes himself as “a dance music artist with an alternative sensibility, a psychedelic approach, and a punk outlook.”
Erol ran the celebrated indie disco London club Trash at Plastic People/The Annexe/The End between 1997 and 2007, famously wrapping up the very last night with ABBA’s “Dancing Queen.” In 2006, Mixmag voted the artist DJ Of the Year. Those Monday nights at Trash continue to be considered legendary in the London clubbing scene and are permanently commemorated in spirit.
In 2007, the iconic clubbing figure founded the label Phantasy Sound, whose roster has grown to include Daniel Avery, Red Axes, Gabe Gurnsey, Mystery Jets, PYTKO, and more.
Along with Richard Norris, he founded a “sonic brotherhood” named Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve. Their debut album The Soft Bounce and 2016 single “Diagram Girl” were highly celebrated at release.
At his 'To The Rhythm’ shows at Village Underground in London’s Shoreditch, the artist explores his record collections in extended sets.
Tune in to NTS Radio to listen to Erol Alkan gracing aficionados with two hours of his monthly selections.
